Rita Carey MS, RD, CDE is a Registered dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator in Northern Arizona. A graduate of the State University of New York and Bastyr University, with degrees in Dietetics and Human Nutrition, she is currently the staff dietician for the Pendleton Diabetes Education and Cardiac Rehab Program at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. Rita has over 20 years of training and experience in public health, clinical nutrition and culinary arts. She is a freelance writer on health, diabetes and food-related issues and is currently training to become a coach. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Diabetes Educators, Wellcoach, and the Northern Arizona Dietetics Association.
